The modernization of the world has made gambling popular but its history is thousands of years old since man used to live in caves. Gambling was used to win wars in the past and territories were decided with a throw of the dice. Dice like objects have been found from different places that were made from bones of dogs and seeps and archeologists are of the view that these were used for gambling in ancient times. Children were taught gambling and it was a major source of income of most of the families when Roman Empire was at it height. Gambling was banned in most of the countries several hundred years ago because soldiers did not perform their duties and were too much involved in gambling.
Gambling got to its height when it reached America and after the Civil War, people really started to get into it. The so called 10 percent houses used to facilitate the players and gambling improved a considerable level at that time. Casinos were opened in the homes and were led mostly by Chinese because they were the ones who brought various forms of game to US. Lotteries were introduced in the US in the 18th century and for quite some time; these were the most popular source of fund raising.
Gambling spread all over the world in 20th century and after the First World War, major changes were made to the legal systems. Gambling was legalized in Nevada in 1931 and gamblers from across the world went to Nevada to try their luck. The game of chances started to turn fortune of many people. 70’s was an era of revolution for gambling when machines were introduced and with the introduction of computers and internet, gambling went online and reached at the desktops of almost every man on earth.
